This app lets you control your hearing aids from your mobile device. It comes with an app for Apple Watch helping you discreetly change programs and adjust volume (when within Bluetooth range).

Just a note: some features may be available depending on your hearing aid model. Check below for details.

• Adjust the sound volume for each hearing aid together or separately
• Mute surroundings for better focus
• Switch between programs set by your hearing care professional
• Check battery levels
• Use SpeechBooster to reduce background noise and enhance speech (available for all hearing aid models except Oticon Opn™)
• Stream calls, music, and podcasts directly to your hearing aids (availability may vary depending on your phone model)
• Find your hearing aids if lost (requires location services to always be turned on)
• Access app support and troubleshooting solutions
• Meet your hearing care professional for an online visit (by appointment)
• Adjust streaming sounds with streaming equalizer (available for all hearing aid models except Oticon Opn™ and Oticon Siya)
• Adjust sounds around you with sound equalizer (available for Oticon Intent™ and Oticon Real™ models)
• Track your progress with HearingFitness™ feature (available for Oticon Intent™ and Oticon Real™ models)
• Handle wireless accessories paired with your hearing aids such as TV Adapters, Oticon EduMic or ConnectClip
• Connect to and adjust an Auracast™ broadcast (available for Oticon Intent™ and Oticon Zeal™ models)

First use:
You need to pair your hearing aids with this app to use it to control your hearing aids.

App availability:
The app is compatible with most hearing aid models. If you have hearing aids from 2016-2018 and haven’t updated them yet, a hearing aid update is required for this app to work. We recommend regular hearing aid updates during your routine check-up with your hearing care professional.

For optimal performance, we recommend updating your device to iOS 15.2 or later. To check the latest list of compatible devices, please visit:

I have been using the Companion app with my Oticon Intent 2 hearing aids for one month. I am still learning, but the basic controls are quite straightforward. My audiologist provided four basic listening situations which can be tweaked with the volume, balance, and equalizer controls. Streaming media and phone calls directly to my hearing aids is a real plus. My favorite feature is the “Mute” button. You can use it when neighbors are mowing their lawns or running chainsaws. I use it mostly to dampen the morning TV news. I did not mention previously that I have an iPhone 16 paired to my Oticon Intent 2 hearing aids. I think it would be helpful to reviewers if reviews included the make and model of all the devices associated with their hearing aids. Many older smartphones do not have the capability to handle all the features which modern hearing aids are capable of providing.

I was pleasantly surprised to get a prompt response to my inquiry, even at 10pm in the evening. As with many other companies with a help line they normally respond within a week or later. Sometimes they don’t respond at all. So I was very impressed with a response email within 30 minutes. The instructions given from your service representative was clear and concise and I was able to resolve my problem within minutes. I’m truly impressed. My only other concern is that my Bluetooth signal will periodically fade in and out during the day, even with fully charged batteries. This is a minor inconvenience and not a deal breaker. Thank you again!

It could have received 3 stars if Oticon didn’t have a much better app Oticon ON before it. My new hearing aids no longer support Oticon ON and I had been annoyed by this app since the first day. It can easily got killed on my old phone (iPhone 12 series, 4GB RAM), essentially making its watch app useless: I have to launch the phone app every time I need the watch app. Eventually I gave up and used Apple Watch’s built in hearing aids control instead. Like many others, I submitted a very negative feedback and the developer promised to improve. They did improve it, a little bit. Still got killed from time to time and launching the app was very slow. After getting my new iPhone 17 Pro, finally Oticon Companion can stay background for half of a day or so, thanks for the 12GB RAM of 17 Pro. On the contrary, Oticon ON could even run smoothly on a ten years old 2GB RAM phone. Then guess what? Oticon Companion became the No. 1 battery consumer on my 17 Pro! It ate 6% battery overnight. That would mean 18% for a whole day. On an older phone, if iOS didn’t kill it, it could eat as much as 40% battery per day. No wonder why iOS keeps killing it on older phones. I honestly don’t understand why can’t they make its background process as simple as the good old Oticon ON, then just add whatever fancy new stuff to the foreground interface. That would have made everyone happier.
