This game has great bones. There's a TON of content, the combat is satisfying, and progression is good. However, it really needs balancing; there is an objectively best character (paid), several stats and skills don't scale well (esp health), and the pet system feels tacked on. There's a lot of MTXs. The game has 5+ systems, and each one comes with its own perma boost. There's also a battle pass and temporary boost, which is just a subscription. Great game, just needs polish and balancing.

lets me honest, it's a free idle game. So you expect there to be ads. What bothers me is that once you hit Expert level 5, you essentially hit a brick wall. I've been trying to beat Relic Dungeon 34 for at least a month now. I don't mind watching ads, but I expect those ads to allow me to actually continue my progression. Micro-transactions should be for people who don't want to "pay" by watching ads, not required to make progress.

You can progress without spending money, but it will be highly aggravating. Mainly because they charge you for B.S.. I will explain. You can beat a dungeon and beat it handily at that. But then, even if you have leveled up significantly, you may not beat it again in 100 tries. But you can "pay" to sweep levels you have won. I don't mind paying some money on games, but the pricing on this game is extremely high. So unless you have oodles of patience/ time or cash, skip it.
